This is the ugliest carpet ever. Okay, that's an exaggeration but it was ugly enough to keep me awake at night. Yes, I lie awake at night stressing about everything... including ugly carpet.

Thanks to a wonderful friend I was able to take a gift certificate to Home Depot and buy new tile. In honor of that friend I scribbled a message on the floor before I put down the new tile. It says:

If you're reading this then you took up the floor Patti McEwin bought. You have had it now!! A pox on your house! *POOF*

It will be funny 50 years from now when someone declares my tile the ugliest floor ever and rips it up. Believe me.. the whole town will be in an uproar trying to figure out when any McEwins ever lived here.

The new floor. Installed all by myself while Todd was at work. It was supposed to be our weekend project but I decided to surprise him.

As soon as I finished it I thought "Okay, now that vanity just looks dumb". I watched back to back episodes of Trading Spaces late last night and was inspired. Bought a couple quarts of paint today and voila!

A new look for the vanity for less than $20. Of course then the shower curtain looked stupid but found one of those nice fabric ones on sale. Basically I have a whole new bathroom for under $50 and about 30 hours of my labor.
