It’s hard to believe that another month is gone. Yeah, this was a short one I know but a couple more days wouldn’t have made it seem any longer. Time is really getting away from me the last few years. I suppose that it does that with everyone but it still amazes me.
Another thing that makes me think about this is the fire in the club that Great White was playing. I didn’t even know those guys were around anymore. I used to really like them and lately, I have found an amazingly high number of people that never heard of them. What can I say except I work with a bunch of kids. You know…. The 80’s really weren’t all that long ago.
Are you up for it? If you are, you can go here. Lisa tells me they served some nice bull snout the last time. Sorry I missed that. Pretty sure I won't be sending in my app though, I think I have to work that day. Some of that stuff really doesn't look all that hard to me but the eating part.... Sorry, I'm just not that eager to win stuff.
This flu or whatever it is that's going around has one thing about it that I like. No pukes. Yeah, it's got about everything else but still, if I had to do without one thing, that would be it. We're slowly getting better though I think. Just hope the trend continues.
Okay, I’ll admit it. I’m sick. The worst part about it is the coughing and the back and neck ache. I’ve never been run over by a bus but I’m sure that it’s a comparable feeling. Lisa went out to the clinic yesterday and got some fancy meds and was told that it’s going around and typically lasts about 2 weeks. If that’s true, I have around 9 days left to put up with this crap. This always happens when I have a couple of days off and want to do something. Looks like this weekend I’ll be hanging out at home trying to get over this sooner than the 2 weeks that it’s supposed to take. We’ll see how it goes.
My first wireless post. It’s such a milestone. Lisa set up a wireless network here at home about a month or so ago and today my network card showed up. So here I sit on the couch trying it out. So far it works pretty well, except my battery lasts about 1 minute before it dies so I have to leave it plugged in to the wall the whole time. Maybe if I take to the wireless thing I can get a new battery for this thing. You never know, I might want to go outside this spring.
This morning we had a little sledding adventure. Out of the whole group, I think the dog had the most fun. I lost him in a snow bank a few times but lucky for him, he has 4 wheel drive. Should have taken the camera. Next time I'll try to remember that.
I made 3 posts on here yesterday and now, they are all gone. Ta Da!!! Thank you, thank you. I'll be here all week.
Yesterday I had to work since they raised the alert code for the country. I was supposed to be off so it kind of messed up some things that we had planned to do. At least they didn’t make me work today like I was originally told. We have little enough time the way it is without that happening.
We just finished up with the semi-traditional “big breakfast” that I make sometimes when all the kids are here on Sunday mornings. It started out with something that I saw a guy at work with the other day. He came rolling in at 8 am with a sack from Sonic. He pulls out what I thought was a corn dog. So I said, “What the hell did you do? Bring in the left overs from last night?” He then begins to tell me that Sonic has a “Pancake on a Stick” thing that is like a corn dog but it’s a sausage and pancake batter.
After thinking about that for a few days I decided that I would make that for the kids. I mean, after all, they like sausage and pancakes and who in their right mind doesn’t like food on a stick?
So I buy all the stuff and at the last minute came to realize that I had no sticks. So much for that idea. We’ll just have to do it the regular way. Pancakes, sausage and eggs. After everyone has left the table and I start the clean up it becomes apparent that the dog didn’t get any. Now, he’s very much aware of this fact, judging by the drool pouring from his mouth and the way he’s following me around, but somehow I’ve overlooked this very substantial event in the dog’s life.
He’s a big breakfast eater so I gave him everything that was left. The grand total: 3 sausages, 4 eggs and 5 pancakes. He’s a very happy dog. A bit bloated, but happy.
