Cold Snap

It’s cold again. It seems that we are into the transition phase between winter and spring. The last week it was really nice out. I took advantage of it some on Friday and spent a fair amount of time outside with C. We had a pretty good time doing our favorite “guy” activity but now, it’s cold again. Last night when I went to bed it was 31 degrees outside. Yesterday I was standing at the kitchen sink and Lisa said it was snowing. I looked out and sure enough, it was. A quick check of the temp showed that it was 47 degrees outside. Now that’s just wrong. Of course it didn’t stick but the ground was starting to get pretty white. And to think, last weekend I was wanting to bring my boat home and possibly put it on the water. Maybe next weekend.

Spring Time

The grass is getting green and it’s really starting to get nice outside. Yesterday we spent a great deal of time outside just trying to get some things done and enjoying the weather. We picked up the yard, had the John Deere out, burned a small pile of yard waste and even had the grill going twice. Today is supposed to be even nicer so even though I have no idea what the day holds in store for us, I’m sure it involves a fair amount of time outside. Still need to grill those ribs.

Couch

I’ve done it again. I keep telling myself that I’ll post more often on here and then I just don’t get it done. Most of the time it’s simply because I don’t feel like there’s anything worth putting up. That has pretty much been the case this week too. Well, other than that one thing…..

Last Sunday night (I think) I went to get gas in my car. When I got back in there was a LOUD pop sound and it felt like I had snapped a rib on the left side. For a couple of minutes I didn’t think I would be able to drive home. Well, that lasted a few days but I’m pretty much over that now. Hopefully, I never do that again. What ever it was.

Slow Week

Once again it’s the weekend. Wasn’t much going on this past week around here, which is a good thing I suppose. None of us felt like doing much but at least for me, I think that I’m getting over it. Today my back is hurting again but the cough seems to be gone. That was perhaps the worst part of the whole deal.

Yesterday I felt well enough to get out of the house for a little bit. It was fairly warm out and I had not been shooting for some time so I decided to go. With the warmer temps it was a pretty good time even though I would like to have stayed another hour or two. I’ve been working on this particular rifle and this was the first chance I’d had to take it out. The results were about what I was hoping for although I still have a little bit of work to do. Maybe another trip or two out with it and I’ll have it the way I want it. That will have to wait for another day.

Cool

Today something happened that was really cool. What you ask? Well I’ll tell ya. The turn signals on my old work P.O.S. started working again. I haven’t had turn signals for about 2 months until today. Yes, I’m easily amused but still….. that’s a pretty neat deal. Those are kinda handy to have you know? I mean, while I know what I’m doing at all times, others on the road sometimes do not. So a special thanks to the turn signal Gods from me. Sometimes Monday isn’t all that bad after all.

Brownies

While at the store today I found a box of Twix brownie mix. Of course it had to come home with me and is in the oven right now. I had never seen such a thing but the smell makes me wish I would have gotten two boxes.
