Yeah!! My crazy cousin Becky just had a baby!! I won't go into who is older than who or exact birthdates so let's just say that she is old enough that everyone was concerned this go around. Happy to report that both mom and baby are doing fine and I found a picture at the hospital website. She is a cutie. Would now be a good time to mention that Becky is also a grandma?? Sorry, Beck. You know I love you...

I had the best Fourth of July this year. My mom usually has a whole house full of family and friends for the holiday. She lives right on the parade route so everyone gathers there for food and parade watching. I think there were over thirty people there last year. This year the crowd was considerably smaller due to family illnesses, vacation plans, etc. While I enjoy having everyone together, it seemed right to have a smaller group this time. Maybe because I am in a transition period and don't want to explain it a hundred times. I don't know. Regardless, I spent the day with my mom, my two favorite aunts, a couple of family friends and my best guy friend. It was so relaxing. Didn't hurt that I did NO work the three days previous so I had some time to practice that relaxing thing.

Back to reality today though. Work to be done and of course, rumors to deal with. Everytime my best guy friend and I are in public together, a new round of rumors begins. To anyone who may be reading this who helps perpetuate these stupid stories.... first off, you need to get a life and more importantly, get a best friend of your own. You've obviously never really had one or you wouldn't have to question it or twist it around like you do.

I have a best girl friend and a best guy friend. I wouldn't take all of the money in the world for either one of them and I feel sorry for people who have never had that kind of friendship. It is so awesome to have someone who thinks you're the greatest even though they've seen you at your absolute worst. It's a bond so incredible that no one can touch it.

Speaking of friends, thanks to Shon who abolutely rocks at this insurance stuff! For at least the next 24 hours, you are 'DA MAN!! : )

Ahh, July. Hot and sticky and it's not even noon yet. Last night we set the tent up in the backyard. That thing is like a blast furnace this morning yet the kids still want to be in it. I wish someone would do a study regarding children vs. adults and find out what causes those little changes. Like why is the water in a swimming pool just perfect when you are a kid and cold as ice when you are not? Run barefooted across gravel when you are a tike yet scream at the mere thought as an adult? And that annoying mosquito bite that keeps you up all night is a bazillion times worse than a slew of chigger bites on a kid. By the way, the barefoot on the gravel thing... I am 33 years old and still can't find my shoes unless I am forced to.
