Since Andrea left a nice comment in my previous post, I went to her site to see what inspiration she had to give. I usually find something good in her poetry, but tonight I think I'll borrow an idea she and her hubby Ray did a few weeks back - ten things they love about each other. So for the romantics in the house, ten things I love about Todd:
His warped, dry sense of humor;
His crystal blue eyes;
The freckles that dot his nose;
The little crinkles around his eyes when he smiles that smile at me;
The loving way he attends to our children;
His willingness to help anyone in need;
His honesty;
The fact that he refuses to talk bad about anyone - even if they deserve it.
The way he balances out my hot-headed temper with a gentle patience.
The way he looks into my eyes and strokes my hair without saying a word.
true story... I went to planned parenthood when I was 17 and beginning to think about having sex... got the required exam and a bunch of free condoms. When I got home, I discovered that the condoms made nifty water balloons so my girlfriend and I filled them with water and had a water balloon fight.
The last one we had was bright red. We filled it with water and crammed it in the medicine cabinet and slammed the door. The theory was that my mom would get up in the morning, open the cabinet to get her contacts, the condom would fall out into the sink and explode.
The theory should've been tested first because I was awakened the next morning by my mom shrieking my name and when I ran into the bathroom, she is standing there with this disgusted look on her face. The bright red condom is hanging half in and half out of the sink bowl. The half out part was stretched clear to the floor.
I wish they'd have had digital cameras back then because the look on her face was absolutely priceless and the horror I felt has still not been surpassed.
I'd like to clarify a couple of things. #1. I did not need the condoms (have sex) until I was 18 and would recommend to anyone who asked that they wait even longer than that. #2. Patti made me post this.
