Breaking out

Like an anxious teenage girl, I've got acne from hell. My nerves are totally shot. Haven't really slept longer than a two hour stretch since Thursday night. I will be glad to put the crushing weight of the election process behind me. No more negative commercials, no more phone calls during dinner, no more watching friends seethe over politics.

I do hope when it's over, we can start to heal.

Shootin'

Today the boy scouts had their annual turkey shoot. If I weren't tired, I'd go into detail. I'm exhausted though so I'll just tell you that C. won 1st place in both the .22 with a fixed target and in trap shooting with the shotgun. You'd never guess he was born to a woman who hates guns. He's sure proud of the bruises on his shoulder. I think he likes those more than the cash he won.

*sniff*

I think a cold is trying to catch me.

I usually take a lot of vitamin C in the colder months but after reading this study about too much vitamin C and arthritis, I've stopped taking megadoses. Now I sneeze. Last night I woke up several times in the night with a sore throat.

I've also been out there. You know, out of my office and out in the public. Out there where the germs are. Yesterday I even went out with someone! My friend Lori and I ventured to the high school (any school is germ central) and cruised through the craft show. Todd says about craft shows, "Knick knack, piece of crap, give some junk a home." He's not far off. I did see a bracelet that I wanted but my want was not $35 worth of want. Also saw a framed version of my favorite Bible verse. Again, not worth the $31 price. I'm getting cheap in my old age.

Have I mentioned my dislike for homophobes?

Cross dressing for school homecoming week has homosexual overtones? Are you kidding me???

I was going to write about how wonderful it was this past week to see not just one, but two of my cousins who are in the military. Right now all I can think about are the poor children who are being raised by parents who think like the above article.

What's with insurance companies?

Heather writes about a suicide and her depression. She mentions that insurance companies haggle over mental health payments and that reminds me I never did post my own hell with insurance.

The B Double D

Have you ever seen such a big, dumb dog? I just love pictures that show how enormous that dog truly is. We actually have one of Todd holding him that is so funny that it's in a frame for everyone to see.

P.S. If you see Dozer, don't let on like he's a big, big dummy. He thinks he's a cute little puppy still.

Anyone else hate Sunday mornings?

I've been up since 6 something. Todd is still in bed so I have to be still. I do not do that well. Up until my late 20s I could sleep til noon then sit on the couch all day if I had nothing to do. Now my on/off switch is stuck to ON and it kills me to respect someone else's right to rest and relax. Get up dammit!!! Get up and be miserable!!!

This four day weekend went by way too fast, didn't it?
